Our Terms

  • In order to secure your booking, a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the estimated total cost will be required. I am happy to provisionally hold your date for up to two weeks with no obligation to book, to give you time to decide without the pressure of letting your date get away! However, after this time period the date will be open for other bookings if a deposit has not been received.
  • Once the deposit has been paid, the date is yours! Then, 4 weeks prior to the event, I will ask for final details and the remaining balance will be taken, along with a £50 damages deposit.
  • The damages deposit will be refunded as soon as the items have been safely returned back and checked over. Please note that the damages deposit may not cover the entire value of the items hired (depending on what’s been hired, for example it wouldn’t cover the value of the bike) and you may be liable to further costs should the hired item go missing. (Please ask me for further information) It is very unlikely that items go missing or become damaged, and if they do, I only charge cost and deal with it in a professional and fair manner.
  • You, as the hirer, are responsible for all damage costs regardless as to who is at fault (i.e if the venue or a guest has damaged an item)
  • The hire period is for 2 days unless otherwise agreed (usually drop off on the morning of the event and collected the next day)
  • To Love and To Cherish Vintage cannot be held responsible for any injury or damage caused during the hire period through breakage of equipment or suchlike or any other accident during the hire period. All items hired will be checked over prior to hire to ensure they are in a safe and suitable condition.
  • The hire of China is on the understanding that it cannot be placed in a microwave or dishwasher – simply remove any food or liquid and leave the washing up to me!
  • I offer a free delivery service within 10 miles of Sabden, for orders of £50+ (unless otherwise agreed) Mileage will then be charged at 50p per mile. For orders less than £50, mileage will be charged at 50p per mile from Sabden

FAQs

All of our China is Vintage, and although we do try, it is difficult to get complete sets, particularly for large events like a Wedding.  However, we find one of the appealing qualities of using Vintage China is the wide array of beautiful designs. A truly Vintage look is achieved by mixing and matching those beautiful designs, and in my opinion this makes it look even prettier! Although, if you are hosting a smaller event and would like a matching set this might be possible, please get in touch to discuss.

When ordering a set (ie Tea Cup, Saucer and Side Plate) a matching set will be sent where possible.

We usually deliver your hired items on the morning of the event, and then collect the following day, the total hire period being for 2 days. We do try to be flexible with this where possible so please get in touch to discuss options.

We understand that you will be looking after your hired goods, as will your venue and all your guests. It is very rare that we have issues, but we do have to have a policy in place in case of accidents or losses. Please don’t let this worry you, we wont make a fuss and vintage China is much more hard wearing than many modern designs. We will simply ask for a damages deposit of £50 prior to the event, which should cover the repair or replacement of the goods in case of accidents. Your damages deposit will be refunded to you as soon as the goods have been received back and checked over. Please be aware that some of our goods are worth more than £50, so in some cases an additional payment might be chargeable. Please be aware that you, as the hirer, will be responsible for the cost of repair/replacement of goods, even if it is the venue, guest or suchlike who is at fault.

We are based in Sabden, and will deliver orders over £50 for free within a 10 mile radius.  We are happy to deliver further afield and any locations more than 10 miles away will incur an charge of 50p per mile, above the 10 miles.

For just 50p extra per setting, you can have the peace of mind that I will be setting up your vintage bone china. Not only will this avoid any stress or added pressure on the day of your event, but it will avoid any accidents and ensure that your place settings are all coordinated beautifully. I can also help with other aspects of venue dressing, whether its as little as decorating glass jam jars to fit with your theme, to as much as placing favours and setting up your table centerpieces’. If you need help, then just ask and we can come to an arrangement! I have plenty of experience of setting up events so you can be rest assured your venue will look beautiful!

Unfortunately we do not allow you to collect/return the goods directly to/from us. This is simply to avoid any accidents from happening, and so that the pressure and responsibility is all on us. We do offer a free delivery service*, please see the delivery charges FAQ for more details.
